This presentation will be useful for the facility manager looking to incorporate sustainability into the office and will focus on operational efficiencies, marketing successes both internally and externally, and unlocking strategic value through minimizing carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.  In addition, we will explore the most cost-effective ways to achieve green including incentive programs and legislation and the savings available through effective partnership between the landlord and tenant including green leases.  Participants will also learn the most common hurdles to office retrofits and the need for effective partnership between the landlord and tenant in order to maximize efficiencies.

About the Speaker: As CEO of Goby, a green building operations firm, Chris Happ has worked on more than 25 million square feet of green building projects across a broad range of areas, including a 2.7 million sq. ft. LEED EB project slated to be the tallest in the country; a pilot LEED ND project; a 100,000 square foot LEED CI project; and a LEED NC parking garage.  Chris has also worked on numerous Energy Star energy efficiency retrofits, building portfolio sustainability strategies, and financing programs to drive operational savings, market recognition, and strategic value from real estate. Prior to Goby, Chris co-founded and sold blueSolutions, a supply chain strategy and consulting firm focused on multi-year international projects for fortune 50 companies. He is currently the co-chair for the Membership Committee of the USGBC-Illinois Chapter and sits on USGBC commercial real estate committees across chapters throughout the Great Lakes Region.
